Covid-19 Protocols for MMS Practitioners and Teachers

Aleks Ceho MMS International

We are living in interesting times and COVID-19 has changed the way in which we live our lives and conduct our business worldwide. At the Modern Mystery School, we take everyone’s safety very seriously.

As each area reopens always take into consideration your local government policies. The MMS has provided the following general recommendations to assist all its practitioners and teachers.

These Guidelines were created in consultation with members of the MMS Medical Council Doctors in accordance with worldwide health recommendations.

These Guidelines will not necessarily address every requirement in each area, however, it will provide you with some minimum parameters. It is your responsibility to stay up to date with changing information and recommendations all over the world.

The MMS will be using these safety guidelines in all areas until this pandemic is eliminated worldwide.

There are two aspects to safety:

1) Ensuring the client/student coming to you does not have COVID-19 symptoms.

2) Ensuring you, your premises and equipment are not a source of infection.

GUIDELINES FOR CLASSES WITH MODERN MYSTERY SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL:

When Modern Mystery School International hosts a program, as an organization we obey the laws of that particular City, Region and Country in which that program is being hosted. For instance, in Toronto, Ontario Canada, where the MMS headquarters is situated, the Government of Ontario has installed a proof of vaccination law for all indoor event and meeting spaces. Due to this provincial law as indicated on the Government of Ontario website  we are unable to host you currently if you are not vaccinated at this time.

GUIDELINES FOR PRACTITIONERS:

  1. Be smart and think ahead at all times
  2. You are the face of the Lineage of King Salomon.
  3. Refrain from seeing clients if you are sick or feeling unwell
  4. You need to ensure your own health and safety
  5. Remember the 4 pillars of immunity and self-care:

~ Exercise

~ Nutrition

~ Rest, adequate sleep

~ Minimise stress levels using meditation

GUIDELINES FOR CLIENTS:

  1. A) INITIAL CONTACT – BEFORE CLIENT ARRIVES

Communication with your clients is imperative. Make sure to ask questions and give them ample information from your side, too. Affirm all the precautions you have put in place to ensure their safety. (see example attached and create your own).

  1. INFORMED CONSENT FORM

An agreement of informed consent or an indemnity form must be filled in by every client/attendee, so they are aware of, and accept the potential dangers of having to travel to and from your practice and having a close contact healing/treatment done during the Covid-19 pandemic. Such as this one that the MMS uses.

Most of our healing modalities require close-range contact with our clients and they need to be aware of this beforehand for informed consent.

This may be done by email in advance. Ensure this information is stored according to confidentiality laws in your area.

  1. SCHEDULING:

Use a booking system for treatment appointments with ample spacing between clients for cleaning as well as minimizing client-to-client contact.

Viruses are believed to survive in the air as droplets for several hours, so you might wish to schedule clients several hours apart unless your room is well ventilated. This requires opening windows/doors, if possible, or alternatively, the use of effective local extraction ventilation systems with filters that get changed and cleaned frequently; e.g. HEPA filters.

Only allow clients who are to receive treatment in your space, no guests allowed, in order to minimize client contact unless your space allows for the social distancing of 1/1.5/2 meters/6ft according to your local laws.

  1. PAYMENTS:

Avoid the use of cash and think of utilizing contactless payment, like PayPal and such.

  1. PPE: Personal Protection Equipment

Even if laws in your area do not require the wearing of masks, it may be something to consider, especially if it helps your client to feel more secure.

~ Consider using medical-grade 3 ply surgical masks, 3 ply material/cloth masks – you might decide to supply your client or ask them to bring their own.

~ Disposable medical grade non-latex gloves and disposable aprons may also be considered depending on the modality and local guidelines – these are never to be shared or re-used and must be discarded safely.

B.)   PREPARING YOUR SPACE FOR YOUR CLIENT

Consider how you might reconfigure your space to be more “low-touch” rather than “high-touch,” this means using a minimalistic approach and reducing anything that is non-essential. Spare no detail when it comes to creating a more easily sanitized environment.

Ethical conduct, cleanliness and meticulous hygiene will determine whether people feel safe and comfortable entering your healing space and go a long way to minimize possible liability claims. Make sure to know the requirements of your indemnity insurance regarding your practice, where applicable.

General prevention measures include but are not limited to: regular and thorough washing of hands, social distancing, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth. Please ensure everyone adheres to good respiratory hygiene; coughing/sneezing into your sleeve or tissue while attending your space. Have posters displayed with reminders to maintain high hygiene standards, are advisable (see attachments and create your own).

Provide either a hand sanitizing/hand washing station for customers to wash hands with fresh warm water and soap or to sanitize hands with 70% alcohol-based lotion before entering your premises/healing room.

Remember to do this also before and after serving each client;

Hygiene stations should be visibly available throughout the centre including the point of entry/exit and in all rooms.

Maintaining good hygiene involves:

  1. Regular cleaning of all hard surfaces (e.g. floors, desks, countertops, tables) with a standard disinfectant, bleach solution, or mixture containing at least 70% alcohol.
  2. Cleaning of all soft or porous surfaces (e.g. carpets, rugs, drapes and blinds) with 70% alcohol-based spray.
  3. Wipe and disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, taps, toilet flush handles, soap dispensers after each client.
  4. Daily disinfection of all in-room equipment such as laptops, tables, altars, coffee machines/kettles, lamps, refrigerators, music stands, remotes, etc.
  5. Protect printed material and flyers with plastic covers that can be wiped and disinfected, or consider switching to an in-room tablet, which is easier to clean. Become as paperless as possible.
  6. Replace all linens and towels after each client and preferably use paper towels.
  7. Wash linens/towels daily with disinfecting laundry detergent, and don’t forget to frequently wash bed/couch covers, altar cloths, and decorative pillows.
  8. Keep in mind that viruses are thought to live for 9 days on metal, glass, and plastic surfaces unless they are cleaned, so be sure to increase the frequency of cleaning for all common areas – this includes all areas of your centre – including the lobby, ablution areas, and waiting rooms) as well as all public touchpoints, such as doorknobs, elevator buttons, handrails, taps, and crockery.
  9. Use only single-use and disposable gloves, aprons, masks, tissues, paper towels. Replenish your supplies regularly!
  10. Ensure that cleaning staff use appropriate protective gear, including gloves, aprons and face masks and adequate cleaning materials are available at all times.
  11. We recommend that no food or drink should be provided for the clients.  Inform them that they should bring their own food and drinks. Snacking should not be allowed during class and eating should be done during designated lunch breaks only. If possible this is best done in an outdoor environment.

IT IS IMPERATIVE TO MAINTAIN A DAILY REGISTER OF ALL CLIENTS AND PERSONS THAT ENTER YOUR SPACE FOR EASY TRACEABILITY.

C) WHEN THE CLIENT ARRIVES

  1. GREETING YOUR CLIENT ON ARRIVAL

With current social distancing requirements, hugging is not advisable. Heart to heart connection is a part of our healing practice but in these touchless times, this still remains a risk.

Should you and your client choose to hug, you might consider hugging with masks and faces turned away from each other for a few moments.  Alternatively consider the safer option of establishing Soul connection through eye contact, while observing social distancing.

  1. SANITIZING

Much has been covered already on this topic.  Please be diligent! Supply tissues or encourage clients to bring their own to catch any coughs or sneezes.  Once caught, the tissue must be binned and hands washed/sanitized immediately.

Ensure potentially contaminated products are disposed of in pedal bins, where possible, to limit the handling of surfaces. Remove soiled bags in a hygienic fashion several times a day!

If you are presenting a class, you may consider spraying the aura of students on entering and re-entering the room with 70% alcohol spray. Ensure they keep their eyes closed. Consider spraying the room with alcohol spray on breaks.

  1. MASK/SHIELD

COVID-19 can potentially be spread 2 days before someone develops symptoms or by those who do not develop symptoms at all, hence the need for social distancing. When that distance can’t be implemented or maintained, consider the use of masks or face shields to prevent potential spread; for instance, while doing Crystal Healing, KSHM, Ensofic Ray Healing Modality, or while teaching Sacred Geometry.

  1. MODALITY RULES

Be mindful of your sacred tools being a potential source of contamination. Ideally, they should not touch a client, so consider the healing modality offered.

Thorough cleaning of each tool and those items in contact with the tools must be carried out after each client.

This will require at least 70% alcohol spray and time for the drying process.

  1. CLASS RULES

Points to remember:

  1. Follow your government guidelines regarding numbers allowed per room, with social distancing and whether clients are allowed in your home or centre only.
  2. Frequent sanitization – should you be using hired space to ensure that this is executed. It remains your responsibility.
  3. Adequate ventilation – this might require taking more frequent breaks during long classes.
  4. Factor added time for bathroom breaks with socially distanced queuing.
  5. Be cognisant regarding adjustments in timing when planning classes, to allow for all the above requirements.
  6. Provide single-use items and supply enough equipment to prevent the sharing of tools during classes e.g. shared use of scissors, rulers during SG1.
  7. The use of temperature screening will add to client/student confidence, although supporting evidence for this is limited.
  8. When designing signs, one may wish to include advice to encourage everyone to use their own personal moisturizer to prevent skin irritations/dermatitis due to frequent hand washing.6. CLIENT FOLLOW UP

Encourage clients to inform you if there are any changes in their health status. You might wish to do a courtesy call/text 7 days after contact. Should either you or a client develop symptoms TESTING IS RECOMMENDED, if available. If tests are positive, contact tracing is NECESSARY.

  1. HOW TO HANDLE CHANGES IN VIRUS STATUS & CONTACT TRACING

If a client informs you that they tested positive after seeing you, contact all subsequent clients to let them know there has been a COVID-19 positive client at your practice. Recommend that they have a COVID-19 test even if the possibility of contracting it is minimal. Refer clients to their healthcare practitioner.

Remember you have been exposed too. Adhere to local guidelines regarding self-isolation.

  1. THOSE AT PARTICULAR RISK

High-risk vulnerable clients include those who are immunosuppressed because of their condition or because of the treatment they are taking. In differing parts of the world, different age groups are more vulnerable. These clients should be given the choice of perhaps coming first thing in the morning before other clients arrive and made aware of the chances of exposure in a group situation.

  1. TRAVEL ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT/FLYING

Currently, travel to other countries, states, provinces, is still limited. For air travel, even if allowed, quarantine is mostly unavoidable and 14 days are usually required. Most airlines insist on wearing facemasks throughout the travelling experience, including in the airport, plane and on buses/trains/shuttles to and from.

Public travel has the potential for high exposure risk. Please take these factors into account when booking clients for classes/healings.
